Are you asking yourself: “What will happen to the money if I choose to donate to MEandYou?”
More information is below.
A prerequisite to initiate the Phase 3 trial
In order to initiate the Phase 3 trial, it is a prerequisite that the necessary funding is in place and at the disposal of Haukeland University Hospital. The public authorities have not allocated sufficient funds to carry out this study. Therefore it is necessary to raise additional funds from other sources. MEandYou would like to contribute the additional financing and the goal is to raise 7 million Norwegian krone: approximately US$1.2 million / £820,000 / EUR940,000.
Use of the funds raised by MEandYou in order of priority
Primarily all the funds raised will be used in full for financing the Phase 3 trial. None of the MEandYou volunteers are paid, and the foundation has no administrative costs.
In case that MEandYou is not able to raise the remaining funds needed to initiate the Phase 3 trial and/or sufficient funds have been allocated from other sources, public or private, the money already raised through MEandYou will be spent in the following order of priority:
- Funds raised are to be spent on studies directly relating to the study “Benefit from B-Lymphocyte Depletion Using the Anti- CD20 Antibody Rituximab in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. A Double-Blind and Placebo-Controlled Study”, led by Fluge/ Mella.
- Funds raised are to be spent on other biomedical research into ME, led by Fluge/ Mella, and following the approval by the Board of MEandYou.
- Funds raised are to be spent on other biomedical research into ME at Haukeland University Hospital following a consultation with Fluge/ Mella, and following the approval by the Board of MEandYou.
In case that neither the Phase 3 trial nor points 1 – 3 above have been fulfilled, a transfer of funds from Haukeland University Hospital back to MEandYou will happen, so that the foundation can ensure that donor funds are used for other biomedical research into ME.
A written agreement stating the above exists between Haukeland University Hospital and MEandYou.
